Plan Balkans: Europolitan announces competition winners

plan-balkans-6After receiving a large number of entries, we are very pleased to announce that we have selected two winning authors: one for the essay and one for the photo competition. The two winners will have the opportunity to participate in the International Summer School in Sarajevo organized by the Association “PRAVNIK” together with the partner organization Konrad Adenauer Stiftung. Moreover, the best ten essays and three winning photos will be published in a booklet and distributed to young people across Balkan countries.

Europe@debate in Brussels: Europe’s lost generation? Young Europeans’ perspectives on the crisis


A group of active young citizens from across Europe came to Brussels to present their report on Europe’s ‘lost generation’. These young professionals, all members of FutureLab Europe, debated their ideas with European Commission Vice-President Almunia, who accepted the first copy of the report.

Europe@debate in Hamburg, Germany – The Islam belongs to Europe

Europe@debate in Paris, France – Imagining Europe in 2037: scenarios for the future

p1090114On Tuesday 13 November a group of young Europeans spent the day discussing the future of Europe in various forms.  ‘Imagining Europe in 2037 – scenarios for the future’ started with a workshop featuring FutureLab together with young experts from various fields of cultural life invited by the host organization. The day culminated in a Europe@debate, a public debate between the workshop participants and Hugues de Jouvenel, director of the think tank Futuribles, one of the most prominent think tanks dealing with future perspectives in France. The event was hosted by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Paris.
